Intelligent Tool Control Cabinets (ITC)
What is it?
ITC is a range of Intelligent Tool Cabinets offering a patented electronic, computerised method of tracking, controlling and auditing the use of hand tools and other inventory.
The "Fit to Fly" cabinets can offer "real time" information to a supervisor on various data such as who accessed a tool box, at what time, when a required audit was conducted and when the tool box was closed.
The Coplan range of Intelligent Tool Boxes is the benchmark for the Industry and is a must for companies who cannot afford the risk of human error when managing the use of calibration tools and hand tools.
How does it work?
The tool cabinet is accessed via proximity sensor, swipe card, pin number or other available options. The Intelligent Tool Cabinet monitors and reports who opened the box at what time. The cabinet automatically locks after a pre-set time which is set by the supervisor.
Each hand tool or measurement instrument has a precision cut cavity in the bi-colour foam in to which it fits. The cavity can include a sensor which detects the presence or absence of the tool. This can then be linked to who accessed the cabinet.

Tool allocation for specific job. PIN code sensitive
ITC can issue tools on a process specific basis. If an operative has a specific task to do, the tools required to carry out that job can be pre-specified into specific drawers. Using his PIN code to access the tool cabinet, we can ensure that only the tools required for that job are removed. Anything other than the tools issued to that job that are taken will be notified to the supervisor immediately, in real time
Remote reporting
The tool cabinet can be hard wired into a network or alternatively operated remotely using advanced data communications systems
Keypad Entry
Our unique ITC system is available in our bespoke cabinet with various entry options.
Using the KEYPAD and PIN option does away with the problem of lost keys and means that PIN can be changed on a frequent basis, important when considering staff turnover and changes in sub contractors.
